Editing
Fact-checking
I offer developmental, copy, and line editing services for science and natural history writing, helping authors shape their ideas into clear, compelling narratives. With an eye for detail, an instinct for story, and a broad knowledge base in science and natural history, I work collaboratively to refine structure, strengthen voice, and ensure clarity and accuracy.
As an experienced fact-checker, I bring a rigorous approach to verifying information, supporting work that is not only engaging but also trustworthy and impactful.

I was the developmental editor for The Killer Whale Journals: Our Love and Fear of Orcas by Hanne Strager (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2023), winner of the National Outdoor Book Award and honorable mention for the Sigurd Olson Nature Writing Awards. I worked closely with the author—a biologist, whale researcher, and internationally renowned science writer—to shape the manuscript’s structure, narrative flow, and clarity. The book chronicles her decades-long journey studying killer whales around the world while exploring the deep, often complicated relationship between humans and killer whales throughout history.
